Gaurav has overall 17 years of work experience with a Ph.D. in Virology and Vaccinology.
He is an experienced Senior Researcher/ leader in the research and development of Vaccines and Biologicals in industry and academics settings. He has held senior roles at various biotech companies: Biomed, Panacea biotech, Zydus Cadila (India and Italy) from 2005 to 2017. Later, he worked as Senior Research Scientist in the Jenner Institute, University of Oxford, where he successfully managed multiple Malaria vaccine projects for process development, technology transfer, clinical trials manufacturing and contributed to Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine process development. Recently, he was CMC lead for setting up various vaccine platforms labs and client projects in VMIC, UK from 2020-2022.
He has expertise in design, execution, strategic and project management of various types of vaccines (novel and classical) from concept to market; with broad knowledge in the areas of process development, analytical, preclinical, clinical trials manufacturing, technology transfer, manufacturing, CMC regulatory dossiers, setting up of biopharmaceuticals R&D and GMP labs. He delivered several projects- live viral, sub-unit, VLPs, inactivated and viral vectored vaccines for clinical trials phase 1, 2, 3, as well as commercial production.
Gaurav has about 35 publications and 6 patents in areas of Immunomodulation, Vaccinology and Immunodiagnostics. He is currently leading Manufacturing and CMC at Speransa Therapeutics.
